Use of data
The “Nodojido” hobby android app doesn’t collect any user data at all.
The app is all about the offline process of scraping websites for aired Japanese musical TV show episodes which contain artist/song pairs, converting that data to a relational/browsable database, and also looking up the scraped entries in 5 online music databases:
- Deezer
- Discogs
- LastFM
- MusicBrainz
- Spotify
That entire process, including generating kana/romaji and translations is all done offline; the only network access in the app happens when the user wants to visit a hyperlink (url) or search for videos on youtube.
